Why
women wrestlers aren't taken seriously in
TNA and WWE
As
a kid, I grew up watching the likes of Lita,
Trish Stratus, Molly Holly and Chyna. These
women seemed to have something unique and
different about them. They could wrestler,
not only each other, but could beat up the
guys too! They were an inspiration and they
were role models for young children.
However,
fast-forward to today’s current division
of women wrestlers in TNA and WWE, and the
story is a far cry from what it once was.
One
problem I have always had with the WWE and
TNA is that they define their women wresters
as, Diva’s (WWE) and Knockout’s
(TNA) – why can’t they just
be called women wrestlers? Why pick them
out of the bunch and give them a separate
name? I have always found these names sexist
and degrading to women wrestlers.

Trish Stratus Makes A Surprise Return on 'WWE Monday Night Raw'
After
retiring from wrestling in 2006, Trish Stratus
made an unexpected comeback on last night's
WWE Monday Night RAW. In the main event
from Toronto, the former WWE Women's champion
teamed up with John Cena to defeat Santino
Marella and current Women's champion Beth
Phoenix.
Evidently, Cena needed a female tag partner
and he initially enlisted Kelly Kelly's
services, but Kelly left the building when
The Miz teased that her hotel room was trashed.
Cena then somehow was able to find Trish
Stratus on short notice and get her to the
building as his replacement tag partner
less than 30 minutes before the main event.
Prior to her appearance on last night's
WWE Monday Night RAW, rumors have been circulating
that Trish Stratus will be visiting the
backstage of the show, which is something
she has hinted on her blog for the past
weeks, along with her on-going feud with
Beth Phoenix. However, at the time, her
schedule and participation on the program
wasn't confirmed.
